Great news on the Khayelitsha Cookie front! We have some wonderful news to share with you all … Last month we won the 2010 Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise Award, an initiative of Afrigrowth Institute, meaning we were recognised as the TOP SMME in South Africa. This is a huge achievement for our team and we are over the moon.

Our business model, which includes 30% ownership by the staff in a Trust fund, was what really impressed the judges and we were affirmed for our solid business principles and for the radical difference we are making in the lives of all those involved in Khayelitsha Cookies. We also received 1st Place in the Industrial Sector, which ultimately placed us in the runnings for the SA SMME of the Year!
